The Broken Nest II

“Akansha you are my wife, I am staying with you, right? I am not showing and frustration, I am trying to be happy, I am not trying to convince you for divorce. What else do you want?” Abhimanyu shouted in frustration.

“Yes Abhimanyu, you are doing a huge favor for me by staying with me. There is no love, no emotions; it’s just social conviction that’s all you care for. And your love is for that bitch!” Akansha shouted in a louder pitch.

“Akansha, don’t drag her into everything. It was not for her. How many times do I have to tell you about that? Prarthana was there in my life for a reason and the reason is you. Have you looked at yourself in the mirror? You can act a witch without even any makeup. She was there to support me, it was love and she left me for you” Abhimanyu continued “What else do you want? I am trying right! Things don’t happen overnight; everything needs time. I am sacrificing my career as a writer also to give you happiness. Now do you want me to die?”

Another night continued with the same argument over and over. Akansha and Abhimanyu are married for last six years after two years of their courtship. Life seemed to be a fairytale to Akansha during all those years. Yes, there were fights, huge fights, but then there was love which used to fade away everything bad they had between them. Abhimanyu was her life, her world. Whatever she had done, always had a thought about him, will he like it, Will he be happy with this and they all of a sudden she comes to know that it’s not the same with Abhimanyu. Abhimanyu could merely remember all the good time they spent together, all he could remember is the fight they had. He could easily forget all the care, love, effort Akansha had for him. All it mattered today to him about her is, she doesn’t take care of herself; she has the worst skin possible, the worst figure possible in the earth.

Akansha hated it when Abhimanyu says he doesn’t remember anything good about their relation; all he remembers is it was not working out, they were always fighting; but he does remember what Prarthana is all about. Akansha wants Abhimanyu to forget her and back to her all over again, loving her all over again. She just hates that bitch. Is she better than Akansha? Is Akansha jealous of her – Yes, she is.

She knows every fight with Abhimanyu is taking him away from her, but still every time all she can manage is to fight with him. All she has expected in all those days are Abhimanyu will realize his mistake and come back to Akansha and will say “Sorry Sona. It was a mistake. Ar hobe na” hugging her tight. But it never happened. Abhimanyu doesn’t have a bit of any guilt. He justifies the thing saying this is how it is. He doesn’t get attracted towards the same person for long. He wants to have sex with different girls. This would have been acceptable to Akansha somewhere. She accepted and tries to make things on track, but deep down somewhere she can sense the craving Abhimanyu has for Prarthana, she can sense the pain Abhimanyu experiences for not getting Prarthana. She can feel the madness Abhimanyu has for Prarthana which she always wanted to achieve.

Is this love what she has for Abhimanyu? Or is this just the feeling of being defeated by Prarthana which she is not able to handle? What does she want? She wants Abhimanyu to be back to her, to have the same madness he has for Prarthana to her. She wants Abhimanyu to love her unconditionally. She wants Abhimanyu to feel the pain she is going through. She wants Abhimanyu to calm her down when she is angry, furious instead of abusing the world. She wants to be a proud wife.

But its only destiny who knows what is waiting for her in her broken nest.

Movie Review : Kapoor & Sons

My Rating

Movie Name : Kapoor & Sons (Since 1921)
Directed by : Shakun Batra
Produced by : Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta
Written by : Shakun Batra, Ayesha Devitre Dhillon
Cast : Rishi Kapoor, Fawad Afzal Khan, Ratna Pathak, Rajat Kapoor, Sidharth Malhotra, Alia Bhatt
Genre : Romantic Comedy-Drama

Plot : Estranged two brothers Rahul and Arjun Kapoor (Fawad Afzal Khan and Sidharth Malhotra) are forced to come together and return to their childhood home in Coonor when their 90-year-old grandfather affectionately named "Dadu" (Rishi Kapoor) suffers from a heart attack. Their parents, Harsh and Sunita Kapoor (Rajat Kapoor and Ratna Pathak) also reside here. Rahul is a writer, who personifies the image of a successful young man who appears to be the most mature person in the family. On the other hand, Arjun struggles to make it big as a writer and resorts to running a website and works part time as a bartender to make ends meet. Rahul is loved more by his parents for being more mature and successful. This doesn't go well with Arjun. While the brothers struggle to get along, the parents, Harsh and Sunita Kapoor too are troubled with their own marriage. Arjun meets Tia(Alia Bhatt) at a party and falls in love at first sight while Tia finds Rahul hot. Will this family ever be together or there will be more problem?

My take on the movie:
Kapoor and Sons is not just a movie, possibly everyone who has watched the movie has lived one or more part of their life through it. This movie has managed to touch almost every aspect of today's life, be it Sibling love or rivalry, partialism of parents, extramarital affair, homosexuality, the ego of a looser man, the loneliness of a father, bonding between grandfather and grandsons and much more. It is like a garland created with small beads and which never seemed to be too many of beads, or the beads are not being handled properly. It is crafted just perfectly.
There are many small moments in the movie which touched my heart and tears automatically rolled down.
The story went very smoothly and unveiled the incident one after other very flawlessly which definitely kept the audience in suspense all the time. The twists in the story are created very nicely and flawlessly and was actually nonguessable after quite a long time. This movie pointed very bluntly to us that none of us are perfect and we all have made our share of mistakes in life. So, we should learn to let go few things to be happy and content in life.
Rishi Kapoor, Siddharth Malhotra and Alia Bhat did a great job. Fawad Khan, you are the LOVE, seriously in love with him head over heals :). Ratna Pathak and Rajat Kapoor are equally good.

Thumbs Up:

  • The storyline is awesome. An out of box story but just picked from our daily life, something we all can relate to, which has been successful in touching the heart of people.
  • As I already told, twists are unveiled successfully and they remained twists, not something which audience could guess from the first scene and just becomes a drama for the movie shake.
  • Dress designers, make-up men have done a great job.

Thumbs Down:

  • Music is a big turn down for this movie. There is not a single song I would think of playing twice.

Verdict: It is a great movie and everyone must watch this at least once.
